Bridge Bearings
We offer three basic types of bearings ensuring safe load transfer and control of structure displacement and rotation:

• Elastomeric bearings – an economical and reliable solution for structures with standard requirements.
• Pot bearings – designed for structures with heavy loads and demanding operational requirements.
• Spherical roller bearings – ensuring minimal friction and high load capacity, ideal for structures with large displacements.

Expansion Joints
Freyssinet manufactures three types of expansion joints, adapted to various displacement ranges and operating conditions.
The offer includes:

• FREYSSINET 3W modular expansion joints, including versions with noise-dampening pads that improve road user comfort.
• CIPEC WP finger-type expansion joints
• CIPEC Wd finger-type expansion joints

To increase the load-bearing capacity of structural elements and improve their strength parameters, we use modern reinforcement systems based on high-quality materials with excellent mechanical properties.
Our projects utilize:

• External prestressing cables made of high-strength steel
• Prestressing rods
• Carbon fiber tapes and mats

These materials are characterized by excellent tensile strength and high durability, effectively improving the safety and long-term performance of the structure.

The use of prestressing cables and rods also improves performance parameters, such as reducing deflection and limiting crack widths in reinforced concrete elements.
For structures requiring additional structural support, we also use additional steel structures for structural reinforcement.

Any damage to a concrete structure—especially one constructed of reinforced concrete—can pose a serious threat to the safety of the entire facility. Such defects affect the durability and load-bearing capacity of the structure, requiring rapid diagnosis and effective repair.

Concrete and reinforced concrete renovation is a complex process that involves selecting the appropriate method and materials depending on the type and function of the damaged element.

In practice, the following are most commonly repaired:

• Industrial and utility floors
• Structural elements such as beams, slabs and columns
• Reinforced concrete supports
• Other load-bearing elements of buildings and engineering structures

We also perform concrete reprofiling, i.e., restoring or leveling the surface of structural elements, improving their performance and preparing them for further finishing or protective work.

An excellent method for strengthening existing circular structures, such as tanks, chambers, or large-diameter pipes, is the low-friction, circumferential X-type prestressing system. This technology effectively increases load-bearing capacity and improves the structure’s performance during operation.

Reinforcement is achieved through the use of prestressing clamps made of single or double high-strength steel tendons. Each tendon is equipped with individual anti-corrosion protection ensuring long-term and safe operation of the system.

This solution is characterized by low friction, high durability and suitability for use in structures operating in harsh environmental conditions.

Renovation of Historic and Religious Buildings

When renovating historic and religious buildings, it is crucial to preserve their original character while simultaneously increasing the safety and durability of the structure. Therefore, we use carbon fiber tapes and mats, which significantly increase the strength of the elements while requiring minimal disruption to the building’s original character.

Replacing Structural Elements
If a structural element needs to be replaced, the optimal solution may be prestressed concrete technology. This allows for:

• Reducing the dimensions of the elements
• Increasing their slenderness
• Achieving improved load-bearing capacity compared to traditional reinforced concrete structures

Bridge Reinforcement and Modernization
The increase in traffic in recent years, combined with the impact of corrosion-promoting factors, means that more and more bridge structures require structural reinforcement and improved performance.
To increase the load-bearing capacity of existing structures, the most commonly used methods include:

• External prestressing tendons,
• Prestressing rods,
• Composite carbon fiber tapes and mats (CFRP).

These technologies effectively improve the strength of the structure and extend its safe operation.

Bridge Element Modernization
In many cases, it is also necessary to repair or replace key bridge components, such as:

Corrosion Protection
To further increase the durability of bridges and viaducts, we offer comprehensive corrosion protection for concrete and steel elements.
It includes both surface protection and systems that protect against the development of corrosion in the long term.

Geosynthetics have become essential materials in construction projects involving earthworks. In addition to solutions based on the use of geosynthetics for reinforcement, Geoquest provides geosynthetic products that perform filtration, separation, drainage and barrier functions.

A strong and durable solution for retaining walls, MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) structures combine controlled backfill with carefully selected steel or geosynthetic soil reinforcements, which are attached to a modular cladding system. Cladding systems are diverse and can consist of:

• Concrete panels
• Steel cages or mesh
• Plant surfaces (green facades)
• Semi-elliptical metal panels
• The appropriate combination of soil, reinforcement, and cladding creates a durable, aesthetic and sustainable reinforced earth structure characterized by high mechanical resistance, stability and long service life.

TECHSPAN precast reinforced concrete arch elements are used in the construction of reinforced concrete structures with a wide range of spans—from 5 m to 20 m—and heights up to 8 m. The TECHSPAN structure can be designed as a two- or three-hinged system. It also provides an excellent alternative to flexible steel structures made of corrugated sheet metal.
